Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Intro Series

This 4-week workshop series provides an abbreviated course structure of the full Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, providing an accessible opportunity to learn and practice the foundations of MBSR, promoting greater well being and personal growth. This research-based program was originally developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the late 1970s by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD., and is now practiced around the world in hospitals, universities, and clinical settings. It has been proven effective in treating a number of concerns, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, chronic pain, fatigue, and grief.

Through experiential learning, class discussion, as well as regular home practice, participants will learn how to apply mindfulness in their lives. Weekly practices will include: instruction and group practice of mindfulness and meditation; group discussion and reflection, and daily home practice.

This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to “wake up” to their lives! No experience is necessary but must possess a willingness to dive into a 4-week community learning experience, with regular home practice at home.
